Nottingham Hollow’s Duncan is the first male sired by Thistledown’s Angus of Argyll. Angus inherited wonderful density and a magnificent typey head from his dam, plus the three generations of true black heritage inherited from his award-winning sire. Angus’ dark color genetics came from his dam. Sabrina is a rich dark brown half-Peruvian, whose black Chilean dam has all black and grey ancestors. A granddaughter of Accoyo Peruvian Leon, Sabrina and her sire Leo have both won awards for their fleece. Sabrina always has lots of milk for her cria and has excellent mothering abilities traits we are thankful Duncan will also pass on.
Duncan’s dam, DAFI Tabitha, is a white alpaca out of DAFI Dove and Peruvian Ringmaster, a white Allianza import known for his wonderful fleece characteristics. Tabitha is an excellent mother and a strong boned densely fleeced alpaca with the full Peruvian look about her.
We are happy to say that Duncan seems to have inherited all of the good fleece characteristics of both his sire and dam and that he has his sire’s wonderful head. Duncan was shown for the first time in October 2007 at the VAOBA Alpaca Expo and placed 6th in a class of 10!
We look forward to his passing his presence along with the rest of his great genes once he is given the opportunity to breed.
